Global Solar Council at COP30
From Paris to Belém: Celebrating 10 Years of Solar Leadership
At COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the world will mark 10 years since the Paris Agreement — a decade that has seen solar energy move from promise to power.
For the Global Solar Council (GSC), this milestone carries special meaning. Founded at COP21 in Paris, GSC was created to give the global solar PV industry a unified voice in accelerating the clean energy transition.
Now, ten years later, we return to the global climate stage to celebrate a decade of unprecedented solar growth — and to shape the decade ahead, where solar + battery storage will underpin both mitigation and adaptation worldwide.
Throughout COP30, GSC and its partners will host and co-organise a series of high-level events highlighting how solar energy and storage are powering resilience, energy security, and inclusive growth.
These discussions build on the Council’s latest thought leadership, including:
GSC COP30 Agenda
Discover the Global Solar Council’s key engagements at COP30 in Belém — from high-level dialogues and joint initiatives to landmark report launches and cross-sector collaborations.
Our agenda reflects GSC’s mission to accelerate the global solar + storage transition, promote workforce development, and highlight solar’s vital role in achieving energy security, resilience, and equitable growth.
The programme will continue to evolve in the lead-up to COP30, with final details and updates shared on this page as they are confirmed.
A Decade of Progress — A Future of Possibilities
At COP30, GSC will reaffirm solar energy’s central role in achieving both deep decarbonisation and climate resilience. Through cross-sector collaboration, technology integration, and workforce development, the solar + storage decade can deliver a cleaner, fairer, and more resilient global energy future.
As part of these milestones, GSC will also host a special evening event in Belém — “Celebrate What Is #PossibleWithSolar+Storage” — on 14 November 2025. The night will feature many exciting things: from local music, dj set, and exquisite Brazilian food, to live performance by Antonique Smith, the 2025 Earth Day Ambassador, GRAMMY-nominated singer, actor, and climate “artivist.”
Organised in partnership with ABSOLAR and supported by InterSolar, GCL, OpenSolar, Longi, and Global Renewables Alliance, this celebration will bring together leaders, partners, and advocates from across the solar and storage community to mark a decade of progress and look ahead to the next chapter of clean energy innovation!
